disneyland

i N E V E R get tired of this place…so much so that i don’t believe i’ve missed going since 1989..yes, you read that right..1989! tj seems to be following in my footsteps since he’s been going since his 1st birthday! we’ve been at disney on his actual birthday every year since he turned 1! i know…i know…he’s too young to remember. true, kinda…

* age 1 - his 1st yr was definitely a blank for him since he was just an infant. we took him on every ride that would allow us to carry him. photo props (JENN & EDISON)

* age 2 - when he turned 2, he was “more selective” about the rides..by that i mean, he screamed and cried on almost every ride we went on that year!

* age 3 - he wanted to go on EVERYTHING! so we let him and all mel and i could do was drop our jaws as he pointed at different rides, saying “i want to go there!”

* age 4 - that brings us to his 4th year - we were wrong to think he wouldn’t remember his trip last year..but he did!

at age 3 this year!

one of our closest friends, renita, usually joins us for dinner every visit but this year we did not get a chance to get together…=( this was the first year my parents joined us and they had a great time. such troopers too..we had them out from 9am to 11pm…hahaha!

  • tobey’s birthday

my little guy turned 4 recently! time really does fly…so much so that although i had known the date we were going to throw him the party, i had no idea where we were going to have it. we had just moved into our new home (finally!) and we kept tossing around the idea of having it at home or somewhere else (just so i wouldn’t have to deal with hiding all the boxes in the closets…hehehe)

we knew we wanted to keep it small since it was so last minute…just so you know, keeping it “small” in our culture is not an easy thing to accomplish…=) we kept it to family and close friends and people we stay in touch with most often and decided to have it at PARTY HEARTY, a warehouse with inflatable slides, jumpers, obstacle courses and a mini rock climbing wall. sooo glad we had it there because after over an hour of jumping, followed by pizza and cake, our little man was completely exhausted and slept for almost 2 hours!

he awoke to a loft invaded by 3 giggly girls…justine, lindsay and allison…hehehe. and after everyone had left, he finally opened gifts around 10pm. thank you all for your generosity…he enjoyed opening all of them and CAN’T WAIT to start either playing with the toys or wearing those outfits.

his ninong edwin spent the night at our place…have you ever heard a single guy reading a bedtime story to a curious 4 year old? it was both funny and cute to watch..=)

  • being back from vacation…

    …sucks…=(

usually when i’m on vacation i end up taking my laptop so that i can keep up on stuff…but this time around i actually only checked email once and just RELAXED. finally a real vacation…it was soooooooo nice to just chill and not have to worry about work for 7 whole days!

then of course there’s always that first day back…and omg, today was just crazy. i love how people just assume that because you have been back for a full day that you’ve managed to get through 7 days of emails, voicemails and other s— and that they urgently need a response because blah blah blah blah blah…maybe that will teach me to come back right before payroll, month end, quarter end and not to mention a bunch of funky things going on with personal stuff. i had a sinus headache the whole day and a not so great lunch at some sushi bar in the rivermark safeway…*blech*

the only thing i’m looking forward to now is seeing these two…=)

  • happy birthday edwin!

considering my brother, edwin, helped me get this blog up and running, i found it appropriate to have my first posting be a shout out to him on his birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDWIN!

we took him to dinner at Claim Jumper (no “s” i guess, just “jumper”…ugh, that bothers me). i’m always amazed at how big their entrees are…we started off with an appetizer…the mozzarella sticks were HUGE…they looked like eggrolls! mel and i ended up splitting calamari and roti—(you know i’m not even going to try and attempt to spell it) chicken and tj of course had his favorite…spaghetti and meatball (yes, singular, there was only one). you’d think we’d stop there right? wrong! edwin convinced us to get the chocolate chip calzone thingamabobby. *BURP*….as soon as i figure out how to post pictures on this thing, i’ll post an image of it…hahaha!
