tobey had his spring school program tonight. they had a short performance singing a song called “catch a falling star”. tobey was a cloud and he and the other clouds and stars danced around “the falling star”…it was too cute! our little one finally received his recognition certificate for “graduating” from ms. joy’s class! it was long overdue as he “graduated” back in september 2007. he was so excited to receive his certificate!
since it was raining outside, they decided to do the easter hunt indoors…there’s nothing cuter than seeing 50+ kids and their parents go crazy trying to fill their baskets! there is always a ton of finger foods during one of these programs so all the parents and kids ended up sitting in the cute little chairs just talking about the evening’s events.

we were still hungry when we left so we decided to stop by this restaurant that we normally drive by on our way home. it was raining pretty hard outside and we weren’t in any rush so we ended up eating at the restaurant - kalesa. edison, jenn and joshie decided to join us too! the food was good, will probably go back to try the other stuff on the menu.

24 Mar
the day started out 1 hour later than we had planned. we were up the night before coloring eggs and baking cookies with tobey! he wanted to help so help he did…we baked about 6 dozen cookies! half were bunny shaped and the other half were chocolate chip
after cleaning up the kitchen, i did not even realize it was already 2am and thought we would have no problem waking up early to get ready for breakfast the next day with my family. boy, were we wrong! we woke up at 8am…uh, we had to meet them by 9am! after a hurried morning, we finally met them for breakfast…an annual thing we’d been doing for as long as i can remember! afterwards, we headed to my parents house to do a quick egg hunt with tobey and his cousins…joshua, christian, bryan and aj. his ninong edison and ninang jenn had a surprise for him…they got him a jabbawockeez hat, masks and t-shirt (well, the shirt would come later as it was on order). can i just say HOW HAPPY HE WAS!!!

we then headed to venus’s house to celebrate the rest of easter with hubby’s side. the egg hunt was fun as we hid over 100+ eggs in the backyard! even though it took awhile for us to hide all the eggs, it literally took like 5 minutes for all 7 kids to find them! the 3 boys….tobey, jaryd and sebastian all found exactly 18 eggs each…they were quickly put to shame when jennalyn found 21 eggs! the big winner was kuya justin with 30+ eggs! we spent the rest of the day grazing on some good grub and headed home shortly after! what a long day!

this has been the story of my life for almost the past 2 weeks. it doesn’t help that my boss ends up going on vacation DURING the audit…uh yeah, during the audit.
one plus though is that at least the auditors are nice and easy to talk to..they’re pretty easygoing. i have tons to catch up on now…*ugh*…so i cannot wait til it’s over….just 2 more days (hopefully)!

my sister in law, venus and i had dinner with a good friend recently. being as it was friday during lent, we opted for a restaurant that could serve something other than just meat…so we went to chili’s..hahaha! jenny and venus hadn’t seen each other in awhile so it was great that we could chat it up a bit at the restaurant. dinner was yummy…i had the salmon and boy, did i clear my plate! we ended up having dessert at jen’s house since she had to go pick up katie-kate.
we were suppose to only stay a little while for dessert but ended up tsismissing for about 3 hours! well what do you expect when 3 women get together, no hubbies around and 2 kids that kept themselves somewhat entertained while we talked. we left about 11pm i think because jen had class the next morning. venus spent the night at our house and we ended up talking until almost 4 am..lots of topics to cover! poor thing had work the next morning…she says she was fine but totally crashed later that night! getting older sucks…i spent the whole weekend trying to catch up on lost sleep!

this weekend was all about birthdays!
one of our closest and dearest friends, robbie, celebrated his 40th birthday! i know that sounds old but he still looks like a teenager so you can’t even tell…hahaha. his wife, jenny, decided to plan a last minute get together to surprise her dear hubby. it was a gathering of a few family members and close friends at their house. the menu was yummy and as usual the company was great! happy birthday robbie!
the next celebration was for our twin nieces, jocelyn and jennalyn’s 3rd birthday! princess theme, all the cousins together, lots of food and gifts made for a fun time at my brother in law and sister in law’s place! the kids ran all over the place non stop! it was no surprise that our little one was asleep the minute we hit the road!

okay, when i first heard about digital scrapbooking i was like…”nope, no way”…primarily because i had this preconceived notion of what the end result would be…a book type photo album which just, at least to me, did not feel like a “real album”. recently however, i have become a little more educated on the topic and realized that there are different options to the end result of digital scrapbooking. since i still wanted to use the traditional scrapbook, i found that there were places that could print a 12×12 digital page that you could simply insert into a traditional album. i would be able to design the scrapbook page but would have the option of having 12×12 pages printed instead of having it come in a photo book format.
the main difference — quality and price. the price was higher for a page print, mainly because the vendor i was going through printed them on ACTUAL PHOTO PAPER instead of “photo quality” paper or cardstock. i was told that the photo books were printed on photo quality paper which worried me because if people were to look through it it could easily tear. the page print however, would be protected by the page it was adhered to along with the page protector covering it.
i played around with the creative memories storybook creator digital scrapbooking software to see how i would like it. i upgraded to the storybook creator plus and created my first two digital scrapbooking pages and was quickly SOLD! although i still have tons of papers and stickers for the traditional way, i will likely do a mixture of both since i can’t completely tear myself away from the old school way!
my first two digitial scrap pages!!!
now i have no excuses…doing it this way could potentially keep me current on my projects!!!
